The processes of dressing your child should always be fun for both you and your little one. I know we all get sucked into the world of fashion and the new trends that come with it but sometimes allowing our children to be little is half the styling game. Be strategic with what you choose, if your child loves Elsa embrace it and pair a busy Elsa top with a solid color pant to help the look not be too loud. Or choose a pattern to compliment said top and go the mix of pattern route. Another option you have is to find small handmade shops that create clothing using character fabrics, like Little Peeps Closet who creates fun tops using vintage Disney fabric!
K loves her Disney movies, and to understand the level of love she has, instead of pajamas she prefers to wear princess dresses around the house. So, when she sees anything Disney related she gets so excited and thanks me a thousands times! Obviously, cause I’ll do anything for extra hugs and kisses and some amazing mommy points, when I see something she’ll like and I know I can style I will definitely snatch it up. Just like this Mickey dress from Next Direct. What I liked about this dress was the large print of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Minnie’s polka dot skirt! Instantly I new a neutral pair of K&Elphy sandals would be best, I didn’t want to take away too much from the dress but adding a fun headband from Giddy Up and Grow was the fun factor this outfit needed. Adding such a bold head piece works because of how cutesy the dress is, there are similar color references and the large bow is a nod to Minnie’s style.
My love for styling a child’s outfit always has me looking for the next best piece but sometimes the popular cartoon character is the best way to go as both you and your child will have tons of fun with it.
